With Eid ul Fitr 2025 approaching, many people in Pakistan are eager to get their hands on fresh currency notes to give as Eidi. It’s a beloved tradition where elders gift money to children, and nothing makes kids happier than receiving crisp, new banknotes!
Every year, people eagerly search for updates on whether the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue fresh currency notes ahead of Eid. Let’s take a look at the latest updates.
Will SBP Issue Fresh Currency Notes for Eid 2025?
As of now, SBP has not announced whether fresh currency notes will be available this year. It’s worth noting that in 2023, the central bank did not issue new notes for Eid. Many Pakistanis are now waiting for an official statement to know if the service will be resumed in 2025.
How to Get Fresh Currency Notes from Banks? (If Issued)
In previous years, SBP introduced an SMS-based booking system to make it easier for citizens to get fresh notes from designated bank branches. Here’s how it worked:
- Send an SMS with your CNIC number and the e-branch ID to 8877 (Example: 32453-3454432-1 KHI001).
- Receive a reply with a redemption code, branch details, and validity period (usually two working days).
- Visit the assigned branch with:
- Your original CNIC and a photocopy.
- The SMS redemption code.
- You could get up to three packets of Rs. 10 notes and one packet each of Rs. 50 and Rs. 100.
If SBP decides to reintroduce this service, it will be announced officially. Keep an eye on updates!
When is Eid ul Fitr 2025 in Pakistan?
According to predictions, Eid ul Fitr 2025 is expected to fall on March 31. This means Pakistanis could enjoy a 5 to 6-day holiday for the festive occasion. However, the final decision will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after moon sighting.
Stay Updated!
If you’re eagerly waiting for fresh notes this Eid, stay tuned for SBP’s announcement. As soon as any updates come in, we’ll share them with you!
